A Journey of Grace
Tope Alabi, a native of Yewa in Ogun State, was born on October 27, 1970, to Pa Joseph Akinyele and Madam Agnes Kehinde Obayomi. After studying Mass Communication at The Polytechnic Ibadan, Tope Alabi ventured into acting and was involved in various film productions. Her exceptional talent in music soon made her a sought-after artist for movie soundtracks, particularly in the Yoruba movie genre, where she has contributed over 1,000 soundtracks and signature tunes.
In 2000, she received a divine calling to the singing ministry, launching her career with the album “Oore ti O Common,” which brought her widespread fame. Chords of Christ
Beyond her music, Tope Alabi has achieved a remarkable feat by releasing a hymnal, the first compendium of hymns in our generation, aiming to reconnect the younger generation with the essence of hymns through originally composed hymns.
Her ministry has a global reach, spreading the Gospel of Christ through innovative and heartfelt worship.
One of her strengths is her spontaneous creativity, often inspired during worship. Notable examples are the 16-track album “The Spirit of Light,” a collaboration with Ty Bello. The track “Logan Ti O De” has become a global anthem of hope and faith. Her recent 8-track album, “Oluwa Ni,” continues to showcase God’s awe-inspiring wonders.
